St. George’s, 12 January, 2009_Grenada and china have gone a step further in enhancing business co-operation between the two countries.
A nine member delegation from the national people’s congress met with government officials on Friday last.
Head of the Guangdong delegation, Mr. Xiao lui says the visit is also to promote tourism, trade, cultural exchanges as well as people to people exchange.
“In Guangdong we host an international tourism and cultural festival each year to promote our international exchanges and more than one hundred activities were held during the festivals”, he said.
Mr. Xiao noted,” In the year 2008, we have welcomed more than ten thousand friends from other countries to attend this festival”.
Foreign affairs minister Peter David said despite the global economic crisis worldwide the government of Grenada expects the relations between the people’s republic of china to remain strong.
Minister David encouraged the visit of businessmen from Guangdong province to explore business investment in industry and tourism in Grenada.
He also recommended exchange visits to Guangdong by Grenadian hoteliers.
