St. George’s, Grenada, January 28, 2010: The National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to express its profound sadness at the passing of Dr. David Lambert.
 
 Dr. Lambert was a party stalwart who worked extremely hard to rebuild the party, and must be credited for helping the NDC to a convincing 11-4 victory at the 2008 general election.
 
 Party Leader and Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas, the executive and general membership of the NDC, are indebted to Dr. Lambert for his contribution to the National Democratic Congress.
 
 The NDC extends deep condolences to Dr. Lambert’s wife and other family members, many of whom were at his bedside when he passed away on January 27 at Interfaith Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
 
 Our outpouring of love for Dr. Lambert, and our heartfelt grief at losing him, was evident with the immediate public statements that were forthcoming from party executives such as Chairman Glen Noel, Treasurer Glynis Noel, Public Relations Officer Ann Peters and Assistant PRO, Arley Gill.
 
 Prime Minister Thomas, who travelled to New York on Wednesday to receive an award, had planned to visit Dr. Lambert at the hospital. NDC General Secretary and MP for the Town of St. George, Peter David, also left Grenada on Wednesday for New York, specifically to visit Dr. Lambert.
 
 “As the NDC focuses on Dr. Lambert, we remember him and pay honour to him for his services to the Party. Among other things, he was a Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress and ran as a solid candidate for the Party in St. George South-East in the 2003 general election,’’ said Nazim Burke, Acting Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of the NDC.
 
 Dr. Lambert’s death is a loss not only to his family and the NDC, but also to Grenada. He was a well-known sportsman in youth and a popular physician in adulthood.
